Coach Nelson, a 1994 Brainerd graduate, will be starting his 25th season coaching Brainerd Warrior Football. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education from Moorhead State University and his Master’s degree in Educational Leader-ship from Southwest Minnesota State University. Coach Nelson is also entering his 9th season as the head girls basketball coach. He teaches math (Geometry and Advanced Math Topics) at Brainerd HS. Coach Nelson is the recipient of the 2023 Butch Nash Award.
